About Us

Michael Simons is a Naples musician and performer who plays the Native American flute. Originally from Dayton, Ohio, he began playing jazz in grade school on the tenor saxophone and over the years progressed to the Native American flute in the late 1980s.

Having relocated to Naples, Michael and various performers now perform at local events around town, such as "The Taste of Collier" and other performances in local pubs, restaurants and at private events.

His music is a diverse collection of traditional Native American, Island Calypso, Jazz and Flamenco to create "World Jazz". Michael plays the Native American flute, English Recorder, Irish Whistle and the Bamboo Sax.

He is joined by talented various local musicians from the area to add a constantly blended and unique mix of music to create an original sound. The World Music band members are: Lennart Casperson [percussion], Michael Rice [guitar], Charlie Sherrill [sax and flute], and Maurice Trodjman [percussion] . In addition, he is supported by the listeners themselves who join the band during performances playing other small instruments and/or dance. Michael and the group want to personally thank you for visiting our site. The band's goal is to provide the most diverse, interesting and passionate music for your listening and dancing pleasure.
